About Pessi Feig

Pessi FeigHello everyone,
My name is Pessi Feig and I am a yoga and meditation teacher. I discovered the world of yoga at a very young age and have been walking the path of yoga ever since. I have never stopped learning. My inherent curiosity led me to seek sources of knowledge, some of which were difficult to obtain. In the meantime, I retired to a life of nunnery for a long period in an ashram in India and various places around the world. I lived a strict and meticulous yogic nunnery that included practicing asanas, studying and memorizing ancient scriptures, practicing meditation 4 times a day, studying yoga teaching and yoga therapy. Life in the ashram was conducted under iron discipline and demanded personal observation, education in humility and contentment with little.
In 1989, I returned to Israel and established the Center for Holistic Yoga . These were the first steps in spreading yoga in Haifa in particular and in Israel in general. Slowly, students began to visit the place and together we created an active center in the heart of Mount Carmel. More and more people began to show interest in the world of yoga, and so naturally I established the Yoga Teacher Training School in 2001, out of a desire to continue spreading the knowledge I had acquired.
As a member of the Yoga Teachers Association in Israel , I was elected to the board of directors and chair of the pedagogical committee. In my role, I created an initial document that defines the criteria and standards for opening yoga teaching schools in Israel.
From the various yoga streams to which I was exposed and experienced over the years of my life, I learned to appreciate the benefits of the Iyengar method in practicing asanas and the wonders of the philosophy of Kashmiri Shaivism . I have continuously and consistently created a system that is based on these two sources and on personal insights that I have researched and developed over many years. The system is called Holistic Yoga and it has been recognized as an official stream by the Yoga Teachers Organization in Israel.
This site contains materials that have been learned over the years and used by students in classes and at the teacher training school. In each category you will find pictures of the poses. By clicking on the picture, an explanatory video of the desired pose will open. Next to each video is a short verbal explanation detailing the pose. The site is developing and new pictures and additional videos are added to it from time to time. The names of the poses (asanas) are given in Hebrew and Sanskrit. Over time, videos and explanations will also be uploaded in English. I have chosen to share with you the knowledge I have accumulated over the years of my life so far, with love and out of a desire to give the gift of yoga to all who desire it. Teachers and students from all traditions.
your,
Pessi Feig
